Asbestos Equipment FAQ
A DOP (Dispersed Oil Particulate) test is a procedure that challenges a HEPA filter to ensure it is performing to its rated efficiency (e.g., 99.995%). For asbestos work, a current DOP test certificate is mandatory to prove your vacuum or negative air unit is compliant and effectively capturing dangerous fibres.
M-Class vacuums are for medium-risk materials like silica dust or hardwoods. H-Class (High Hazard) vacuums are the legal requirement for high-risk materials like asbestos, carcinogenic dusts, and mould spores. They have a much higher filtration efficiency and safer disposal systems.
The required air changes per hour (ACH) for a negative pressure enclosure depends on the size of the area and local regulations. A common standard is between 6 and 12 ACH. Our expert team can help you calculate the correct Negative Air Unit capacity for your specific project.
